EPSS Plan

This is where the Educational Plan for Student Success or (EPSS) is kept.  The document is what the school and district use to lead all instruction at all schools.  In order to comply with NM Public Education Standards; the EPSS in conjunction with Baldrige in Education coordinate all resources with instruction to drive improvement in our school 

As per the 2008-2009 School District Report Card (Statistics based on data from 2007-2008), the following school ratings and designations were given to the following schools:

Ranchos Elementary School did not meet AYP and received a progressing designation

 

Analysis of the 2007-2008 New Mexico Standard Based Assessment (NMSBA) for the Taos Municipal Schools District revealed the following areas of strength:

 

      Grades 3, 4, and 5

 

ü      All students met the AYP Participation Rate at 98.5%.

ü      Students with disabilities met the AYP Participation Rate at 95.6%.

ü      English Language Learners (ELL) met the AYP Participation Rate at 100%.

ü      Economically disadvantaged students met the AYP Participation Rate of 98.5%.

ü      Student Attendance Rate surpassed AYP with 94.6%.

ü      Caucasian students met AYP in Reading and Math.

 

Analysis of the 2007-2008 New Mexico Standard Based Assessment (NMSBA) for the Taos Municipal Schools District revealed the following areas for growth:

 

Grades 3, 4 and 5

 

ü      Not all students met AYP Proficiency Goal in Math and Reading.

ü      Hispanic students did not meet AYP Proficiency Goal in Math and Reading.

ü      Students with disabilities did not meet AYP Proficiency Goal in Math and Reading.

ü      English Language Learners (ELL) did not meet AYP Proficiency Goal in Math and Reading.

ü      Economically disadvantaged students did not meet AYP Proficiency Goal in Math and Reading.

 

Analysis of the spring 2008 Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) for the Taos Municipal Schools District (TMSD) revealed the following areas of strength:

 

Grades 3, 4, and 5

 

ü      Grades 3 and 4 exceed the national growth rate in General Science and Concepts & Processes.

ü      Grade 5 exceeds the national growth rate in Math, Reading, General Science and Concepts & Processes

 

 

2008-2009 EPSS Goals

 

 

Goal 1:  The Taos Municipal Schools (TMS) will increase the percentage of students scoring at proficiency in Math MAP as follows:

1.      Students in grades 3-5 will increase proficiency from 47.7% to 50% as measured by the Measurement of Academic Progress (MAP).

 

Goal 2:  The Taos Municipal Schools (TMS) will increase the percentage of students scoring at proficiency in Reading MAP as follows:

1.       Students in grades 3-5 will increase proficiency from 49.9% to 63% as measured by the Measurement of Academic Progress (MAP).

Goal 1:  The Taos Municipal Schools (TMS) will increase the percentage of students scoring at proficiency in Math .

1.   Students in grades 3-5 will increase proficiency in Math from 31.2% to 50% as measured by NMSBA.

 

Goal 2:  Taos Municipal Schools (TMS) will increase the percentage of students scoring at proficiency in Reading.

1.   Students in grades 3-5 will increase proficiency in Reading from 63.9% to 66% as measured by NMSBA.

 

Goal 3:  Taos Municipal Schools (TMS) will increase the percentage of school attendance to 97% or better.

1.       Students in Elementary Grades K-5 will increase the attendance rate from 94.4% to 97% or better as measured by the district accountability report.
