ATTENDANCE AND TARDINESS
School attendance is mandatory in New Mexico. All students are
expected to attend school regularly and to be on time for classes in order to
benefit from the instructional program and to develop habits of punctuality,
self-discipline, and responsibility. Students who have good attendance generally
achieve higher grades, enjoy school more, and are more successful.

The parent or guardian is required to call the school office to report the
absence. Taos Middle School has a Voice Messaging Service that is available
24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your convenience - 737-6002. If this is
not possible, a written excuse from the parent or guardian must be presented
upon return to school in order for the absence to be excused.
