About Ramon Abreu

Hi my name is Ramon Abreu, son of Nina Abreu. I’m 29 years old , born in Santa Fe New Mexico but lived and went to school in Tempe, Arizona. I did have the opportunity to spent most of my childhood summers and winters in Taos with my grandparents. I’m former Division I football player for Arizona State. Athletic training background and NASM PT, specializing in sports performance enhancement. I have had the pleasure to be the Taos Tigers Softball Coach and assistant football coach for four years now going on my fifth. My passion for coaching was passed on to be my by my grandfather Edward Abreu. He has been a basketball coach in New Mexico for quite some time over the years and coached himself at Taos in the early 70s as well as West Las Vegas. His brother a coach football(St.Mikes), my uncle at Robertson and another uncle played for Clemson. My mother went to NM Highlands for volleyball, you could say it runs in the family. I was able to be around athletics my entire life and it’s something I am truly thankful for. Any surface is a playing surface but the diamond is the best (don’t tell Coach Abreu). Since there’s a few Abreu’s around I go by Coach Ramon. I’m quite lucky to have the opportunity to coach these young men and women, and they make me better each day. Go Tigers!!
