Parents/Guardians,
Like the nation, our community is seeing an increase in those being diagnosed with norovirus (stomach bug), the flu, and other significant ailments. As we are all preparing to return to school following winter break, we ask for your mindfulness in prioritizing the health and safety of all our students and staff.
If your child is experiencing active vomiting, diarrhea, or a fever, and it has not been 24 hours since their symptoms have resolved without fever reducing medication, please keep your child home to rest and avoid social settings such as school until:
• 24 hours have passed without vomiting, diarrhea, or a fever
• Symptoms have improved
• There is no longer a need for fever reducing medication
Please ensure you call the attendance office of your child’s campus to alert them of the absence. Your child’s school nurses are available with any questions or guidance you may need.
With your cooperation and support we can continue to strive towards maintaining a healthy learning environment. We encourage everyone to prioritize their health this cold season by staying hydrated, and regularly practicing good hand hygiene with soap and water. Encourage your child to avoid touching their eyes, nose, and mouth as these are the most common sites where germs can easily be spread through.
The district remains dedicated to the health and safety of all and look forward to welcoming each of you back into the classroom.
Stay well Taos Tigers!
